"All the women who are independent throw your hands up at me, all the honeys who makin' money throw your hands up at me..."

This month is all about LOVE. I will be posting about self-love, hair products im currently loving and my love for these red and pink color schemes. Red and pink are colors that are vibrant, uplifting and draw attention. As a single girl on Valentine's Day you may not want to draw attention to yourself but remember that this day isn't only to celebrate couples. Being single, young and fabulous are also great things to celebrate. Flying solo or with Mr. Right now is okay! Come out to play my fellow single ladies. This Valentine's Day I will be spending the night with my best girlfrans and have an amazing time out on the town, no men required. Xoxo

Beauty products

Although California does not have freezing winters, the climate change does affect my hair and skin. I'm keeping my hair and face moisturized this season with organic and vegan friendly products.

Hello Hydrating Mask- I dye my hair... a lot. I love change and with all the coloring, I know I need mane maintainence. This Hello Hydrating Mask has helped restore my hair back to healthy. It's made out of coconut, almond, and aragan oils which smell like a tropical smoothie. The results are immediate, nourishing dry hair. I now incorporate this mask in my weekly pampering. First, I brush all the knots out of my hair, then apply (from ends to roots) and keep it on for about five minutes. There is another mask this line carries for overnight treatment.

Luminance Skin Care The face wash and toner are my absolute favorite, the face wash removes all my make up and the toner revives my skin. I love a rose scent so I was sold with this rosewater toner.  The face moisturizer is perfect for sensitive skin like mine. I apply this moisturizer every morning before my makeup. This skin care line also sells a deep conditioning moisturizer if needed. For my days on the go (without make up),  and after the gym, I find the nourishing serum super helpful,  a little amount goes a long way during cold weather. If your skin is extra dry, a good tip is to apply some of the rose toner after the serum.

With Valentine's day approaching be sure to check out their great gift sets. This company just released a Special Edition Ginger Peach Soap as a holiday fundraiser  that will donate to young adults that have been raised in foster care. Support a great cause!

Little black dress

Channeling an amazing icon this month, Audrey Hepburn. She was woman known for her chic style, class and elegance. If Breakfast at Tiffanys taught me anything, it was the essential LBD that every woman should own in her wardrobe. I paired my LBD with sheer polka dot nylons and my favorite black pumps.

Staying true to my own style, I added this Bare Minerals red lippie, and teal belt as bursts of color to make my outfit pop.

Current obsession: Nylons in fun colors and patterns.

Mixed prints

At the beginning of the year I said I would be revamping my closet by mixing and matching different pieces. Mixed prints is a risky trend, but once mastered is the easiest way to come up with new outfits. I love playing dress up and creating new looks with bold pieces. You never know what will pair well together until you give it a try.

Here are some tips:

1. Stripes and polka dots are the easiest to combine, so I suggest you try these first
2. Choose a color family and stick to it.
3. Avoid mixing more than two prints
4. Get creative and add fun accessories

Little white dress

Dress + Necklace: Nordstorm, Shoes: Blank, Purse: Louis Vuitton

This summer was all about the LWD. Paired with flats, a little white dress is casual enough for a weekend brunch with friends and romantic enough for a midsummer date night. I love a strapless bodice with a little bit argan oil on my shoulders for a pretty glow. A bright necklace and an apricot lip stand out beautifully against the white.

My tips for wearing white: don't order spaghetti, white wine over red, wear undergarments in your skintone, wash your whites with a scoop of baking soda to make them extra bright, accent with rosy pinks, and bring a Tide pen in your purse.

Something Blue

Dress: Nordstrom, Heels: Sam Edelman, Clutch: Betsy Johnson, Bangle: Kate Spade

My girlfriend Stephanie has found her better half, and I couldn't be happier.

For her bridal shower I wore this bright floral dress and most-appropriate powder blue pumps. Sam Edelman really understands how to make high heels comfortable, as he has created some of my sole mates! I was able to accomplish all my bridesmaid duties and enjoy the event sans any discomfort. This dress was one of my favorites to wear this summer. Paired with the right accessories, it was perfect for this celebration. The neon and bright flower hues coordinated well with the theme of Stephanie's shower.

Congratulations to my darling friend - from the bottom of my heart-shaped wristlet. xoxo

Beauty Tip: DIY Scrub

Bring new life to your skin this summer! Give yourself a little buff with this easy DIY scrub. I love to pamper myself at home once a week, usually Wednesdays to revive me for the rest of the week. This all natural and chemical free scrub contains ingredients that can be found in your kitchen.

You will need:
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite olive oil (my olive oil is infused with lemon)
  • 1 tbsp of Argan oil
  • 1 tbsp of pure vanilla (fragrance)
  • 1 tsp of a citrus zest (i.e. lemon, lime, orange, ect) optional

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. This exfoliating scrub can be used on face, body, and feet. The fun part about DIY is that you can use any ingredients you like. Turn this scrub into a wake-up scrub by simply adding coffee grounds or some peppermint.

*Best kept in the refrigerator and should last about a month
